One of the great benefits of
Sueños Compartidos is that the volunteers live with host families who provide food and housing, which keeps your costs
very low. The semester program expenses are around $3,000 and the summer program expenses are around
$1,200 (both estimates based on airfare with departure from the United States). These amounts are NOT fees to Sueños
Compartidos - we don't request or accept any fees - these amounts are your expenses for travel, personal items,
sightseeing, etc. Both of those numbers allow for vacation (semester program) and weekend excursions (summer
program). Email us and we’ll be happy to send you a detailed estimate of expenses.
The qualifications are:
Application (personal information and essay)
Two personal references
Undergraduate degree
25+ years old or three years of teaching experience
Passport (no visa required)
International
health insurance
Additionally,
to participate in the Maestros summer program, we are looking for volunteers with at least three years of experience teaching
ESL.
