One of the great aspects of
Sueños Compartidos is that our volunteers live with host families who provide food and housing, which keeps your costs
very low. Our organization doesn't charge a program fee, although you will incur personal expenses during you stay for
travel, personal items, sightseeing, etc. A realistic estimate of personal expenses is $3,000 for the semester
program and $1,000 for the summer/Christmas program, plus airfare. These amonts allow for vacation (semester
program) and weekend excursions (summer and Christmas programs). A typical weekend excursion would look like this:
Bus travel to and from weekend destination
- $50
Housing for 2-3 nights
- $30-$45
Meals for 2-3 days
- $40-$60
Tours, sightseeing,
nightlife - $50
Additionally,
for the semester program in Colombia, you will obtain two visa extensions which are approximately $40 each.

25+ years old
Three
years of teaching experience
Enrolled
in a relevant undergraduate program (education, international studies, etc.)
Passport (no visa required)
International
health insurance
Additionally,
to participate in the Maestros summer program, we are looking for volunteers with at least three years of experience teaching
ESL.
